This is a general list of services offered to students of the Palm Desert Center.
The M.F.A. Program Manager is available from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday thru Friday to assist students with any aspect of the program.
More than any other literary organization, AWP has helped North America to develop a literature as diverse as the continent’s peoples.Students receive a complimentary issue of The Writers Chronicle quarterly, access to the Online Job List, contest information and many other benefits.
The UCR Career Center provides a variety of services for those entering the academic job market. Under the graduate drop down menu at the Career Center website you will find the “reference files” link. You will need your NetID to login.
The Coachella Review, a literary arts journal from UCR’s Low residency M.F.A program, is published online in the winter, spring, and fall.
Students enroll in classes via GROWL. You will need your Student ID and PERM Pin number (given on your admissions letter). You will add/drop/change grading each quarter via this system.

The UCR Library is available to students who have a Student ID ($25.00) with the 21210 number which is required to check out books.A Net ID and permanent pin number are required to access the databases. Students can access the library from home once they have linked to the library.To access libraries’ resources when away from campus, students, faculty and staff use:
WebVPN, a web-based log-in form.
Client VPN, which functions through software installed by the user on their computer, establishing a secure tunnel between the user’s computer and the campus network.
You can access the intercampus call service at the main campus website and delivery to our campus occurs every Monday/Wednesday/Friday.

The resort locks the conference center doors at 11:00pm each night. Please visit or call the front desk if you have concerns or problems.
This office will assist you with processing fee payment paperwork, and policies and procedures. This office includes Veterans Affairs and Students with Disabilities. Visit the Special Services website.
- Student Health
Students at the Palm Desert Center are not covered by Student Health Services (GSHIP) and should not request a waiver.
- Student ID Cards
Students can purchase a UC Rcard by emailing a photo (head shot with white background) to Agam Patel at firstname.lastname@example.org. The cost is $25.00 and will be billed to your GROWL account. The card will be mailed to your home address.
You can look up your UCR NetID and e-mail address by logging into the MyUCR website and accessing the UCR identifiers section of my profile.
If you do not have access to My UCR, you can lookup your UCR NetID and e-mail address online.
Here you can also change the password for your student ID and e-mail address and set your password. You will need your permanent PIN and student ID numbers. You can also access iLearn at the Growl website.
