Mary Yukari Waters is the recipient of an O. Henry Award, a Pushcart Prize, and a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. Her fiction has appeared in Zoetrope, Glimmer Train, Triquarterly, Manoa, Shenandoah, and in the anthologies The Best American Short Stories 2003, The O. Henry Prize Stories 2002, The Pushcart Book of Short Stories: The Best Short Stories from a Quarter-Century of the Pushcart Prize, The Best American Short Stories 2003, Zoetrope: All-Story 2, and The Best American Short Stories 2004. Her collection, The Laws of Evening was published by Scribner in 2003. She has an MFA from UC, Irvine.
