Natalia Cortes Chaffin grew up on Long Island, the daughter of Cuban and Argentine immigrants. She recently won a Nevada Arts Council fellowship in Literary Arts. Her work has appeared in Hayden’s Ferry Review, Stone Canoe,The Potomac Review and The Coachella Review among others and also earned 3rd place in Glimmertrain’s Short Story for New Writers competition. Most of her writing happens in Vegas, where she work as an advertising creative director and live with her husband, three daughters and a trusty mutt. She holds a B.A. in American Studies from Cornell University, an MA in US Cultural History from SUNY Binghamton and an MFA from UC Riverside at Palm Desert. Her work is funded in part by the Nevada Arts Council, a state agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
